Benjamin (“Benny”) Goldman’s research is in labor and public economics, with a focus on economic disparities by class and race in the United States. Much of his work examines the role of family formation in shaping these disparities. He is a faculty member at the Brooks School and the Department of Economics and a Research Principal at Opportunity Insights.
Professor Goldman is also a research affiliate at the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities, EdRedesign, and the Cornell Population Center.
He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Harvard University and his B.A. in Economics and Applied Math from Macalester College.
