November 10, 2025

The Cornell Tech Policy Institute (TPI) opened its doors for the 2025 Open House, inviting students, faculty, and visitors to experience firsthand the cutting-edge research shaping the future of technology and policy. The event transformed TPI’s research spaces into interactive hubs of discovery, featuring live demonstrations of the Institute’s Cyber Test Range, presentations of next-generation drone and robotics systems, and discussions with TPI leadership and Fellows about their ongoing projects across AI governance, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.

Held alongside Cornell’s Parents Weekend, the Open House brought together a diverse audience that included parents, prospective Fellows, and partners from academia, government, and industry. Visitors explored the Institute’s interdisciplinary research ecosystem, which bridges technical innovation with real-world policy application ranging from studies on semiconductor supply chain resilience to the geopolitical implications of artificial intelligence. Attendees also gained insight into how TPI Fellows contribute to national and international debates on technology governance, defense innovation, and responsible tech development.

“The Open House is a celebration of what makes TPI unique, our ability to connect rigorous research with real policy impact,” said Dr. James Patton Rogers, Executive Director of the Cornell Tech Policy Institute. “It’s a chance to show how our teams are helping shape a more secure and equitable technological future.” The event concluded with networking sessions for students and guests, providing opportunities to engage with TPI’s growing community and learn more about upcoming research collaborations, workshops, and fellowship opportunities for 2026.
