“Congressman Israel and the Institute of Politics and Global Affairs have profoundly shaped my experience at Cornell. I came to Cornell as an undeclared major and decided to take Congressman Israel’s class, Politics, Media, and Popular Culture. I learned so much from Congressman Israel, inspiring me to pursue the government major and ultimately a career in politics. Eager to learn more, I attended numerous events hosted by the Institute of Politics, including those with Congressman Adam Schiff.

Congressman Israel and the Institute of Politics have not only guided me academically but also supported my career development. Congressman Israel’s mentorship was instrumental in securing my internship at AIPAC last summer, where I gained firsthand experience in advocacy and policy-making. His support was also crucial in obtaining my current internship with Senator Schumer. I am beyond grateful for Congressman Israel’s support and the knowledge I have gained from the Institute of Politics.”

“The Institute of Politics and Global Affairs program was one of the most memorable parts of my undergraduate experience, helping me prepare for a career in politics. Congressman Israel provides invaluable insider information on the inner-workings of government and advice on internships and career paths. In addition from learning from Congressman Israel, I also got to hear from other key stakeholders like  Secretary Buttigieg and Congressman Tim Ryan, and SE Cupp. I sincerely recommend applying to this program.”

“The best way to understand politics is to learn from politicians themselves. Through Congressman Steve Israel and an impressive slate of bipartisan guest speakers, IOPGA provided the necessary tools to explore my interest in government and kickstart my professional career. The IOPGA Scholars program and the Brooks School, in particular, not only played a crucial role in securing my dream internship on Capitol Hill, but also fostered connections that led to a full-time role following graduation.”
