SUMMARY:

Hodes Weill is looking for an Intern who is able to work remotely during portions of the Fall 2024, Winter 2025, and Spring 2025 Semesters, with a potential in-person segment during the winter academic break. The Intern will assist with survey formation, data analysis, and publication of the 2025Institutional Infrastructure Allocations Monitor. The Infrastructure Allocations Monitor is a comprehensive assessment of institutional investors’ allocations to, and objectives in, infrastructure investments. The ultimate report will be a research publication jointly sponsored by Cornell University’s Program in Infrastructure Policy (CPIP) and Hodes Weill & Associates, which will focus on the role of infrastructure in institutional portfolios, and the impact of institutional allocation trends on the investment management industry. Additionally, throughout the work term, the Intern will participate in various aspects of Hodes Weill’s business and interact regularly with colleagues and firm leadership in the different offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the drafting and distribution of the 2025 Infrastructure Allocations Monitor Survey to institutional investors globally.
• Collect survey results, conduct various data analyses, and produce a written report that summarizes key findings.
• Prepare quantitative and qualitative analyses for a variety of advisory and capital raising assignments.
• Compose written materials and presentations for existing and prospective clients.
• Perform due diligence on potential clients, primarily infrastructure managers and public companies, including detailed organizational review, investment strategy review, performance/track record review, and marketing strategy and approach.
• Model and analyze various scenarios for clients, including recapitalizations, growth strategies, and mergers and acquisitions.
• Research information in the real assets private equity industries, including private equity funds, companies, and institutional investors.
• Update and maintain a database of real assets private equity fund managers.
• Coordinate activities of working groups as well as liaise with relevant external parties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current Cornell student meeting at least one of the following 3 criteria:
1. Affiliated with the Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy (CPIP).
2. Enrolled in the Infrastructure Project Management and Finance (IPMF) program within the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs.
3. Having prior academic or professional experience relevant to or demonstrating interest in private funds, capital markets, and infrastructure investment.
• Self-starter, ability to work independently and manage variety of different tasks.
• Experience with Qualtrics or an equivalent survey design platform preferred but not necessary.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong Excel modeling skills.
• Candidate will have strong integrity, the ability to consistently meet deadlines, a strong sense of urgency, good self-management discipline, and be capable of working effectively under pressure.
• Candidate will be organized, efficient, and good at prioritizing and completing projects.
• High level of intellectual curiosity.
• 3.5 GPA or greater.
